Supply chain digitalisation, and sustainability, to deliver customer value.
Established in 1970, with over 50 years of experience, Adamallys is one of the leading ship chandlers in the UAE. From its headquarters in Dubai and Fujairah, the company supplies to all the ports and anchorages in the UAE.
Over the past few years, the company has sought to help customers overcome disruption to global supply chains caused by the pandemic, as well as macroeconomic inflationary trends.
As Managing Director Saifuddin Hassanally comments: “One of our most critical areas of focus has been on reducing and mitigating price increases and other inflationary impacts on our customers. In that regard, there are several new and ongoing initiatives that we are taking forward.”
Shortening supply chain
Adamallys is continually working to shorten its supply chain by procuring directly from best-in-class manufacturers, while indexing cost trends across all imported and locally sourced product categories to ensure that it supplies best value products to customers.
Hassanally adds: “Our global vendor network is being continuously evaluated and extended, in line with shifting global supply chains, to engineer the greatest value for our customers. We also proactively analyse customer orders to suggest alternative products for customerswho are being adversely impacted by price increases.”
Adamallys has invested significantly to expand warehouse capacity over the past years in order to accommodate an increased inventory of technical stores and provisions. “Our global procurement and stocking capabilities are the foundation of our offering to our customers, who can expect to receive quality products at fair prices, ex-stock and on time,” says Hassanally.
Digitalisation has also been an important theme at Adamallys, and a number of steps have been taken to ensure the company is using the best digital tools to streamline end-to-end operations. “By operationalising data across all of our business functions, we are able to reliably, quickly and cost- effectively fulfil the consumables requirements of our customers, “states Hassanally. ” For example, our customers have appreciated digital order processing and vendor managed inventory capabilities which have reduced errors, order processing time and ultimately enhanced customer satisfaction.”
Environmental strategy
As a company, Adamallys is committed to minimising its environmental impact, taking various steps, including reducing energy consumption through the installation of energy-efficient lighting and equipment, recycling waste materials, and implementing a green procurement policy that prioritises products with low environmental impact.
“These actions align with our values of being a responsible and sustainable company. As the industry shifts towards decarbonisation and resource efficiency, we are proud to do our part to reduce waste in the marine sector”, Hassanally concludes.
